The bookkeeping industry was still in its infancy in Australia when Helen Stenhouse decided to create PBS in 1983.
As a New Zealand gymnastics champion, Helen was always up for testing herself. “Without challenge there can be no achievement” is a favourite motto.
After moving into banking, she quickly developed a love for logic and numbers, and it was only a matter of time before she started her own business.
Over the next 35 years, Helen and her team has helped businesses of all sizes and industries with their compliance and bookkeeping needs. Helen received many accolades along the way and was nominated for a seat on the Tax Practitioners Board, advised the ATO during the rollout of GST in 1999 and has featured in many industry publications.
After Helen retired, we have a new leadership team.
Her son Chris is a passionate technology enthusiast and heads our innovation and systems architecture solutions. Client Services Director Leanne Willshire, who worked under Helen for more than a decade, ensures our bookkeeping team continue to maintain the highest levels of accuracy, process and client delivery.
Our team remain committed to providing impactful solutions to your compliance, systems and reporting needs, all by being approachable, curious and constantly looking to improve.
We combine deep industry experience (over 100 years bookkeeping experience) with a technology-focused approach. When you engage with a PBS Bookkeeper, we take the time to understand your goals and challenges, then craft an intelligent solution that fits your needs.
We work primarily with business owners and their trusted advisors who are open to change, willing to be accountable and in it for the long-term.
At PBS, we believe the days of bookkeepers simply giving you data are over. A good bookkeeping experience should give you comfort about your numbers as well as presenting a holistic view about the “big picture”.
And it’s what we aim to deliver each and every time.
